People 1st Accreditation Scheme

The accreditation scheme has been designed to recognise and celebrate excellence in the delivery of training and qualifications, and brings together employers and providers in partnership to help raise the professionalism of the hospitality industry. Colleges can use their accredited status as a way to attract new learners, while the logo demonstrates to employers that your college is acknowledged as one of the best places to develop skilled staff to meet their business needs.

One of the benefits of this scheme is the partnership with AA Hotel Services.  People 1st have worked with them to develop a rosette system, which will recognise college restaurants for the quality of the food produced and the level of service delivered.  This has been highlighted by those colleges who have already become accredited as a great opportunity to help them promote their restaurant.

All accreditations are approved by a panel of employers, chaired by Sean Wheeler of Starwood Capital and including representatives from companies that include Hilton, Accor Hotels, Whitbread, Baxter Storey & Exclusive Hotels.  These employers are focused on highlighting the best provision available to their peers in the hospitality industry and are encouraging employers to sign up to a list of preferential opportunities for learners and tutors from accredited colleges that include:-

Preferential work experience opportunities when available
Preferential job interviews for learners from accredited colleges when suitable vacancy arises
Work shadowing / CPD opportunities for tutors from accredited colleges
         Guest speakers / masterclasses
